SOAR nationally recognized by Symantec and Teach For America for teacher innovation

Symantec and Teach For America nationally recognized five teachers from across the country for their efforts as teacher-innovators. These five educators received a grant of $2,500 to help develop their innovative teaching practices. Bobby Moore and SOAR are humbled and honored to have received this award and grant.

20 in Their Twenties honors Maryland's up-and-comers who are in their 20s. Selected by a panel of previous award winners, honorees will be chosen on the basis of professional accomplishment, civic involvement and impact of achievement. The program celebrates the best and brightest under 30 who may have not earned their first million but whose creativity and spirit are already contributing to a new energy in Maryland. Bobby Moore, the Founder and Executive Director of SOAR, was recognized for this award by The Daily Record.
The Henry Ford and Litton Entertainment Announce Winners For The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation Teacher Innovator Awards. Bobby Moore and SOAR nationally recognized.

Through his work with SOAR, Bobby Moore was nationally recognized by The Henry Ford and Litton Entertainment as a first place winner for the Innovation Nation Teacher Award. In conjunction with the Emmy winning television show The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation on CBS as part of the "CBS Dream Team, It's Epic!" Saturday morning block, the awards recognize the educators who are using the classroom to inspire innovation, creativity, problem solving and critical thinking among their students. "I would like to congratulate this nationwide group of educator innovators who are truly changing the way students are learning in the classroom," said Patricia Mooradian, president of The Henry Ford. "I look forward to welcoming them here this summer and watching as this program continues to grow."
SOAR Facilitates Web-Empowerment Session With Baltimore City Students Through The Teach For America ROOTS Event At Johns Hopkins University

Bobby Moore and seven volunteers engaged Baltimore City students at Johns Hopkins University for a "pre-launch" registration session. The event was sponsored by Teach For America Baltimore. The students truly enjoyed engaging the platform and were really excited to create their student profiles.

SOAR Wins YMCA Grant for $5,000

SOAR will be awarded a $5,000 grant from the YMCA of USA on December 17th, 2014. SOAR competed in a national online voting campaign to win this grant. You can visit our YMCA Grant page for more details, and to learn more about the YMCA My Fresh Page Competition.
Bobby Moore speaks at the Baltimore Soup Series

Bobby Moore, the Founder and Executive Director of SOAR, was invited to speak at the quarterly Baltimore Soup Series. Moore discussed the utility of the SOAR platform to over one hundred attendees.
